In December 2023, Zeenat Welfare Foundation organized a Community Volleyball Tournament in Faizabad, Ishkoman, District Ghizer, Gilgit-Baltistan.
The tournament aimed to promote sportsmanship, youth engagement, and community unity across the region. Teams from different villages within Tehsil Ishkoman participated enthusiastically, making the event a vibrant gathering for sports lovers.
A total of 17 teams from various villages took part in the tournament, bringing together talented young players from across the valley. Throughout the competition, the matches created excitement within the community and provided a platform for youth to showcase their athletic skills. Overall, more than 500 players were involved in the event, either as team members or supporting participants.
The tournament concluded with a mega closing ceremony, which attracted over 1,000 spectators from surrounding villages. The large turnout reflected the community's strong interest in sports and youth-led initiatives. Local sports leaders and community representatives attended the event and highly appreciated Zeenat Welfare Foundation for organizing such an engaging activity for young people. They also encouraged the organization to continue hosting similar programs in the future to promote healthy and positive activities for youth.
During the closing ceremony, the winning and runner-up teams were recognized and celebrated. They were awarded certificates and large trophies in appreciation of their performance and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. The event successfully strengthened community bonds while encouraging young people to participate in sports and healthy competition.
This tournament marked another important step in the foundation's efforts to create opportunities for youth development and community engagement in the remote region of Ishkoman.
